March SiteSeer Product Updates

New Competitor Scoring Model

SiteSeer’s new competitor scoring model measures the impact of sister stores and competition on a site. Our proprietary spatial interaction model determines the probability that each consumer in your greater trade area will visit a store based on its convenience and attractiveness, how much intervening opportunities affect shoppers’ travel patterns, and when combined with mobile activity data, where they are shopping today.

SiteSeer’s scoring model is fully hands on and transparent to allow you to manage competitive changes and test for the effects of planned openings. Contact the SiteSeer team for help using this tool!

New and Improved Layer Control

Want better control over your map layers? You're in luck!

We have just completed an overhaul of the old SiteSeer Layer Control to make it easier to add and remove layers, adjust colors and symbols, change the name and order of your layers, label your locations, and much more.

These changes are effective this month!

Opportunity map

Opportunity Zones Map Layer

If you're a real estate investor, you're probably familiar with Opportunity Zones.

Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, new incentives are offered for investments within certain low-income areas and rural communities in major metropolitan areas across the U.S. A Qualified Opportunity Fund is a partnership or corporation set up to invest in eligible property that is located in such a zone.

Now in SiteSeer, you can view Opportunity Zones in a map layer. This is available to all SiteSeer users upon request, so contact us to learn more!

Model Builder new release

Model Builder New Release

Some exciting changes are coming to SiteSeer’s Model Builder over the next few months:

  • Combine variables to create new metrics. Create your own metrics by highlighting multiple variables. (Example: highlight ages 0-4, 5-13, and 14-17 to create a metric called “Children.")
  • Use proximity variables in your models.  Score locations based on how close they are to competition, traffic generators, points of interest, etc.
  • Build analog models. In our new release of Model Builder, users with store/property layers will be able to create analog models to compare sites and return the locations that are most similar.
